If a seed falls in a place where there is very little light, it won't grow at all or its growth will be stunted. The same thing happens when a seed does not get a lot of water. Water is important to plants. When plants can get water from the soil, it's easier for them to move soil nutrients into the plant tissues.

Hope it helps you!
