What will happen if a leaf covered with vaseline is tested for starch?

Vaseline is the mixture of wax and mineral oil property of locking moisture. when it is applied on leaf surface it block the tiny pores know as stomata. In result the leaf could not able to exchange gases. Hence stopping the plant cellular metabolism in a step wise manner. The local cells die.
