Oxygen, which is essential for the survial of all living organisms,is produced by plants during photosynthesis . Carbon dioxide is used by plants during photosynthesis. So,we can say that plants maintain the balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere .

So,if all the plants perish from the earth, life on earth would be impossible without plants.
