♦ If there are other ways of producing electricity when fossil fuels get exhausted, then there is another small effect: majority of automobiles running on petrol/diesel will become useless.

♦ Petroleum derivatives, which include lubricatives, are used in many other industries for a wide variety of processes. Exhaustion of fossil fuels will kill all industries.
