hii there!!

Phytoplanktons are the small aquatic plants which are the producers in pond ecosystem. Like all other producers, phytoplanktons converts solar energy into chemical energy which is circulated in the ecosystem. In pond ecosystem, the phytoplanktons are consumed by zooplanktons which are small aquatic animals which are further consumed by small fishes and than the larger ones. In this way we can see that phytoplanktons make the base of pond ecosystem on which whole of the pond ecosystem depends. So it's obvious that eliminating phytoplanktons from pond ecosystem will destroy the complete pond ecosystem, restricting the flow of energy in the ecosystem and no organism of pond ecosystem will be able to survive.

hope it helps!!❤❤❤❤❤

Phytoplanktons are eaten by the Zooplanktos which are further eaten by the small fishes or larger ones . This allows the flow of energy but if there will be no Phytoplanktos then the whole ecosystem might get destroyed .
Thus these forms the base of the pond's ecosystem .
