If snakes are removed from food chain then the number of rats will increase at a very fast pace. As result there will be shortage of wheat and it will decline rapidly. The population of tertiary consumer, i.e. eagle will also decline rapidly because they depend on snakes for living. Therefore snakes have an important place in the above mentioned food chain.
