The amniotic sac is a uterine bag that is filled with fluid and is essential for the growth of the fetus. The sac is filled with amniotic fluid and holds the fetus until it is fully developed into the baby till birth.
The amniotic sac is made up of membranes like amnion and chorion, which keep the baby and the fluid sealed inside the sac. These membranes and the fluid act as a cushion to the growing baby and protect it from all external shocks.
So, if there is no amniotic sac, there will be no fluid held and there will not be any baby growing in the uterus. Even if the embryo grows after it is attached to the uterine wall, a condition called as 'Blighted ovum', there will be a miscarriage soon because the amniotic fluids and the membranes that protect the embryo are absent.
