When an animal cell is kept in hypotonic solution it takes the water by osmosis and swells up and becomes turgid.

hope it helps ☺️☺️☺️

When an animal cell is kept in hypotonic solution ie the solution in which the concentration of water in the solution is more as compared to the cell. The water will move from higher concentration gradient to lower concentration gradient. That is it will move from solution to the cell and this process is known as osmosis and if more water enter the cell the cell may burst.

Thanks for asking
Hope it will help
