if nails are made of plastic every structure which has nails will be destroyed. in bridges due to the heat energy produced by the friction with the bridge and the friction between the blocks of the bridge gives heat energy which will melt the plastic nails. but in case of iron which has a higher melting point the nails will not melt easily
