due to presence of gravity he fall up-to certain height after that he stay in the space he cannot go up or come down

It depend on the mass of the asteroid means if the mass of asteroid is small then it will burn and destroy in atmosphere before reaching the ground because due to the presence of gravity and frictional force but if its too big in size then it will reached the ground with high velocity then it destroy a large mass of land and rise the temperature of our atmosphere
