Basically the epidermal tissue provides protection to the plant.So if the epidermal tissue is removed, then the plant becomes more vulnerable to mechanical injury. Also absorption of water will be reduced and loss of water from aerial parts would increase.

If the dermal layer of plants are absent then the water loss instantly and the evaporation rate became high so the deficiency of water the plant get dye in some days
