hey friend!!!!!
here goes your answer.....
Basically, the Earth would have a day that is as long as a year.
Without the Earth rotating on its axis, a day would be determined by how long it takes for the Earth to orbit the sun (a year).
At any given point in time, half of the Earth would be exposed to searing heat and half would be in total darkness.
A certain place on the Earth’s surface will experience a brutal half year of sunlight and another half year of frigid, total darkness.
Needless to say, this will cause a few problems.
Prolonged frigid temperatures and prolonged intense heat would kill millions of people without adequate technology and shelter. The new pattern of light and dark would disrupt the ocean currents, killing off over half of marine life and affecting millions more people who depend on the sea for food. The new pattern of light and dark may end up disrupting the climate, in turn changing the rainfall and wind patterns of places. Because of this, rain forests may become deserts, deserts may become swamps, and grasslands may become temperate forests. Because of this, animals will not be able to cope to their new environments and will start dying off in a mass extinction event. The area between the light and dark sides will be filled with extreme instability in the air and may easily spawn gigantic tropical cyclones that could destroy people and property.
In the end, humans will need to adapt and use all of their resources to survive in this new world.
hope it helps!!!!
