Lysosomes are cellular organelles that contain digestive enzymes that break down waste materials, foreign material, cellular debris etc. Bacteria like microbe canenter into the cell and spoil it(Lysosome can digest the microbe.) and cell debris cannot be removed.

If lysosomes were absent, there wouldn't have been a waste diposal system for the cell. Any foreign material that enters the cell or any worn out cell organelles wouldn't get digested. When a cell gets damaged lysosomes have the property of digesting their own cells but this wouldn't happen if the lysosomes were absent.
