If a prism is scalene I.e. different angles then we will not be able to observe a spectrum....

Scalene in the sense that angle between it's two lateral surfaces ( ANGLE OF PRISM ) is not same..

So, to observe dispersion of light the angle of prism between it's lateral surfaces must be same from all the sides.
