Ribosomes are concerned with protein synthesis. If they are removed from the cell there will no longer be protein synthesis.

If ribosomes are removed from the cell's translation (formation of protein) will be halted or stopped in any cell.

Ribosomes are termed as the protein factories of the cell. They line the endoplasmic reticulum (RER) and assist in the process of protein synthesis.

In prokaryotes, they form polysomes( line of ribosomes arranged on the mRNA) that help in cotranscriptional translation to take place.

In eukaryotes after post-transcriptional modifications of the mRNA they come and line over the mRNA initiating the translation process.
