Option A: The population of plant will increase and that of snake will decrease

  • Food web is a process that occurs in nature in which organisms depend upon each other for food.
  • This helps to ensure that the population of each species is maintained.
  • In this case, if rats go extinct then they will not feed the plants and therefore, the vegetation grows at a rapid rate.
  • The reptiles like snake that feed no rats will decrease in the population as rats acts as a primary food source for the snakes. This is why the food web or food cycle should be balance.
