If the seeds are sown very close to each other then they will not  grow properly because then there will be competition for space, water, nutrients etc. The roots of plants would not separate and open properly due to which the plant would not be firm. This would also result in less absorption of water by roots and the water present in soil of that particular area would not be sufficient for both plants. Their leaves would overlap each other and thus would not get enough sunlight. Due to these factors the growth of plant would be severely affected
