If the xylem tissue is damaged  then the transportation of minerals and water will stop and ultimately the tree will die.

if xylem tissue will damage in plants then supplying of mineral ,water and other essential things from root to plant will be not possible in this will lead to dead plants.And plant will not able to survive...°_°..^_^
