what will happen if the xylem tissue is damaged in a branch of a tree?

if the xylem tissue would damage in the cell then the transportation of materials such as water and the dissolved minerals of the water would not be reaching all other parts that are need of the water and the minerals.

if there is no supply of the water in the plant the tree would automatically will die.

Since xylem is the channel through which water and Minerals are transported to different parts of plant, damaged xylem in a branch would mean that branch shall not get proper supply of water and minerals. Lack of water and minerals will result in no photosynthesis in leaves of that branch. As result, that branch shall not be able to get nutrition and would die in long run
