Platelets help in clotting of blood or coagulation of blood.If there are no platelets the blood will not clot if for an injury or wound.
This results in excessive loss of blood,which can cause death.
Also each day at least one capillary in our body breaks and platelets presence clots the blood in that case.Otherwise it would cause internal bleeding and thereby death
