Required Answer:-

Before knowing what would happen if there are no Red blood cells and platelets in blood, we must know what are their function.

Let us understand the importance of RBC.

• Haemoglobin are the red pigments present in RBC.

• Haemoglobin transports oxygen to each and evey cells of our body.

From here we can conclude that:-

If our blood doesn't contain RBC then:-

  • The oxygen would not be transported to the cells.
  • If cells don't recieve oxygen then, aerobic cellular respiration won't occur and hence there will be less production of energy.
  • Ultimately the organism will die.

Now,

Let us understand the importance of platelets.

• It helps in clotting the blood at the time of injury.

• Platelets help in maintaining the immune system of our body.

From here we can conclude that:-

If our blood doesn't have platelet in it then:-

  • At the time of injuries, there will be no clotting. As a result, lot of blood will flow out of our body.
  • The immune system of our body will remain unbalanced and our body will not be able to fight against any diseases.

Hence,

It is necessary for platelets and RBC to be present in our blood.
