I think that if there were no television there would be good and bad effects. It would be good in that people wouldn't be parking their butts in front of the television all the time. It is just plain lazy. Also, people wouldn't have their brains full of junk that's shown on television.

If TV didn't exist, we would still exist. We would know less about the inane minutia of other people's lives, but the big events of the world would still arrive in another form to our homes, perhaps even through the archaic mechanics of conversation.
