What will happen if vacuum is created in cathode ray tube. If nothing then why shouldn't we maintain low pressure instead of vacuum.

Explanatinitially cathode ray tube has gas filled in it which has high pressure. We reduce the pressure of the gas by using a vacuum pump.

No why do we reduce the pressure?Theres a reason given below

Actually if we increase the pressure of gas present inside the tube then we can say that we are increasing the no. Of atoms of the gas.

If volume and temperature is kept constant then pressure is directly proportional to n which is amount of gas in moles.

If the no. of atoms present in the tube increases then the electrons would collide with these atoms..these collisions will act as obstructions in the path of electrons thereby preventing electrons from reaching anode….on:
