If we keep a fish in a closed container without any aquatic plant, it is more likely to be dead. The reason is that the aquatic plant absorbs CO2 and gives out oxygen. These oxygen is inhaled by the fishes for their survival. So if there was no aquatic plant, then the fish would not get oxygen for respiration.

If we keep a fish in a closed contain er without any aquatic plant them the fish is most likely to fie because there is no oxygen neither from the atmosphere nor in dissolved state for the fish to respire.
Hence due to lack of oxygen the fish will suffocate and die . If there was an aquatic plant then the fish wouldn't have died because the plant takes in carbon dioxide from the fish and produce oxygen but since there is no aquatic plant the fish will eventually die
