if we keep a plant cell or animal cell in a
(i) Hypertonic solution : The cell will swell (animal cell will burst as it does not have cell wall) due to higher concentration of solute present outside the cell membrane or cell wall.
(ii) Hypotonic solution : The cell will shrink due to lower concentration of solute present outside the cell membrane or cell wall.
(iii) Isotonic solution : The cell will show no change as the concentration of solute is equal outside the cell wall and inside the cell wall.
