This question is lot related to our daily life . We all have learnt this in our 7th grade or 8th grade . But somehow we forget .
Do you know that air is a bad conductor of heat, and cotton cloth traps less air than a woolen cloth ?
Even though a woolen cloth absorbs water but it also traps more air and as air is a bad conductor of heat , the air trapped inside the woolen cloth becomes more warm , there will be an increased heat inside the cloth that too in times like summer .
So I think now you got why cotton is preferred in summer.
