What will happen if you dip a magnesium ribbon in a solution of copper sulphate for sometime?

What is the reason for your observation?

Al Solution toms into dark blue colour as copper is more reactive than magnesium and hence deposited on magnesium ribbon

B) Copper metal will be deposited on magnesium ribbon as copper is more reactive than magnesium

Nothing will happen since no reaction takes place between copper suiphate and magnesium bj Solution becomes colonies as magnesium is more reactive than copper hence magnesium displaces copper from a volution of copper

Explanation:

Mg+CuSO 4 ⟶MgSO  4 +Cu

           (Blue)

By addingMagnesium to CuSO  4 ,it turns to MgSO  4 .

Because Mg is above Cu in reactivity series. So Mg displaces Cu in CuSO  4 . As reaction processes, CuSO  4  content decreases.

∴ Color blue fades.
