what will happen if you try to place two bar magnets of exactly equal size one above the other such that their north pole are on the same side. Explain your observation

Firstly, one must know that like poles repel each other and unlike poles attract each other. In that case, if north of poles of both the magnets lie on same sides, the the magnets will repel each other.

it is actually not possible coz the magnet will rotate when tried to do so. but even if you do to with force it will not stick and levitates.
