What will happen to a de-shelled egg when kept in pure water

The cell will shrink due to exosmosis. Deshelled eggs are prepared by placing the egg in dilute HCL acid for 10 hours. Now the egg is covered with only semipermeable membrane. When this is placed in a salt solution (hypertonic solution), exosmosis occurs and the egg shrinks due to loss of water to the surrounding.
