what will happen to a plant if its pholem is removed

Phloem helps the plant by carrying sugar,amino acids and other nutrients from roots to the leaves,stem and other parts of the plant.If the phloem is removed then the transportation of substances won't take place andplants would not get the needed requirements to carry out its process and at last the plant dies.
