- Half filled plastic bottle will either suck in the water around the bottle, when left horizontal on the water surface, due to the mass gained they submurge, and when left vertically there will be a sudden pop of a bottle then it lands and takes in water. In both cases the result is they submerge after a few seconds compared to the fully filled water bottle with the cap closed
- With the fully filled bottle, they go down due to the weight
