what will happen to red litmus solution when it is added to bitter gourd extract? it is acidic or basic?

Since the Gourd is bitter in taste and is also soapy to touch thus, it is Alkaline or Basic in Nature.

So,
When RED LITMUS is added to this Gourd extract so due to its Alkaline nature it will turn Red Litmus to Blue.
