what will happen to the area of a square if its sideis:(1) doubled (2)halved​

Answer:

Area is square = side^2

Let the side of square be a ,

Area of square = a^2

If side (a) is doubled then ,

then its side becomes 2a.

area = 2a^2 = 4a^2

Therefore , when side is halves , then its area becomes four times of its original

area..

If side is halved , then it becomes a/2

Area of square = (a/2)^2 = a^2 / 4

When area of square is halved it becomes one-fourth of its original area..
