area of the rectangle becomes 4 times the original area of the rectangle.
area of rectangle = l×b.
let the length and breadth of the rectangle be l and b respectively.
now you double it's length and breadth which is equal to 2l and 2b respectively.
now the finding the area of rectangle with increased length and breadth.
area = 2l × 2b
area = 4 l × b
this shows that it's area become 4 times the original area of you increase it's length and breadth by 2.
