flow of current is inversly proportional to resistance.,,,and resistance is inversly prop. to area of wire as the area of wire increase resistance decreases and the flow of current increases..

Hey friend.
It's based on resistance
Due to resistance the wire which large are will allow less resistance and will allow more current to flow w.r.t the wire with smaller area.
Other thing that will be observes is that's the wire with smaller area will heat up more due to collisions between the electrons due to larger resistance.
