Answer:

non renewable sources of energy are those resources that take a long geological period to form i.e. they are consumed at a rate that is faster than their rate of replenishment

if we do not use non renewable resources sensibly, we can expect the following consequences

a) our future generations will face acute shortage of these resources that we use in abundance now.  example: fossil fuels are a resource we find in large quantities now but in the future this resource may not be so common they will have to find alternate sources of energy.

b) pollution is one of the many problems that will be faced. most of the non renewable resources (fossil fuels like coal and petroleum) are major agents of pollution and global warming . they release poisonous gases into the atmosphere on being burned

c) environmental degradation is another side effect of using renewable resources. as mentioned above pollution caused by the burning of fossil fuels can lead to acid rain. thus causing harm to river bodies and soil fertility

therefore it is important for us to incorporate sustainable development ( sustainable development means the judicious use of the resources without compromising the needs of the future generation)

i hope this answer has helped and i hope i have answered the question, if not please mention i will get back to you with the correct answer
