Magnet will respond as it does when it is not broken. As if we break the magnet the magnetic attraction will not change in the poles. Get it? And if you want proof you can do it practically with horse shoe magnet. I have tried it that's why I am giving this ans.
HOPE IT WILL HELP.

If a bar magnet is broken into two pieces, then each part will behave as a complete magnet with two poles (S & N).
If each piece is further broken inSo two pieces, then each face will behave as a complete magnet with two poles.
