What will happen to the resistance when the diameter of the conductor is doubled?

Resistance (R) is inversely proportional to Area(A). So if radius is doubled, new area= 4x Area of original wire. So the resistance becomes 1/4th of original value. ... As you can see in the picture if you increase the diameter of the wire then the resistance will decrease .
