What will happen to the rise of liquid in a capillary tube if its top end is closed?

heya...

Here is your answer..

No water enters the capillary tube as in case when we immerge an empty jug into a bucket filled with water no water level rises but only the pressure develops inside the container or the capillary tube in this case.... Which means that the compressed air gets trapped in between the closed end and the meniscus if the liquid which helps prevent the rise of liquid in a capillary tube.
