what will happen to the volume of a cube if the length of its edge is reduced to half is the volume get reduced if yes how much

initially:

edge = L

so,

volume = L³

now,

new edge = L/2

so,

new volume = (L/2)³

= L³/8

but we know L³ is initial volume

so replace L³ by V ( initial volume )

so,

new volume = V/8

So according to that formula

a=\frac{a}{2}

now volume would be
=a^3

= \frac{a}{2}^3

= \frac{a^3}{8}

so it would reduced to 8 times
