WHEN A ANIMAL CELL IS IMMERSED IN A HYPOTONIC SOLUTION THE CELL WILL SWELL UP
REASON- IT IS BECAUSE IN HYPOTONIC SOLUTION THE CONCENTARTION OF WATER IS MORE INBNEDIUM SURROUNDING THE CELL.... THEREFORE THE CELL SWELLS UP TO STABLE THE CONCENTRATION OF WATER....

hypotonic solution means more water and less solute as compare to animal cell.....if we place a animal cell in hypotonic solution there is flow of water from solution to cell due to osmosis..... hence cell gets swell up ....and after sometime it gets burst...
