What will happen when a human red blood cells is placed in hypertonic solution

when RBC is placed in hypotonic solution, it will start shrinking. because water present inside the cell will be drawn out into the solution , and the reason behind it is that concentration of RBC is more than the concentration of hypotonic solution. and water flows from to high concentration to lower concentration.
