if the solution outside the cell is less concentrated than the cell sap,it is known as hypertonic solution...in this case exosmosis occur and the cell swells up.
if the solution outside the cell is same as the cell sap ,then it is isotonic...in this case the cell remains same...
if the solution outside the cell is more than the cell sap ,then it is hypotonic solution..in this case endosmosis occur and the cell will swell up...
