what will happen when any alcohol reacts with acid in presence of H2so4 and what is the product formed and name the type of reaction.
if alcohol is c2h5oh and
acid is ethanoic acid.

It will be dehydration of alcohol and dehydrating agent is Conc. H2SO4

The reaction will be :-

Conc. H2SO4

CH3CH2OH--------------------->CH2=CH2 +H2O

This reaction will take place at 170°C
