If the Golgi complex is removed from the cell of an organism, then the activities related to secretion and packaging wouldn't take place in the cell. So the necessary chemicals wouldn't be secreted and transported throughout the body and as a result the cell wouldn't function properly..

If there was no Golgi apparatus, the proteins would float around not knowing where to go. Other cells and organs in the body wouldn’t function properly because they didn’t receive the products from the Golgi. For example, a specific type of liver cell called a hepatocyte produces albumin (the main type of plasma protein). The albumin is made almost entirely within the liver. The Golgi apparatus in the hepatocyte transports the albumin out of the liver to become part of the plasma portion of blood. The Golgi also transports VLDL (very low-density lipoproteins), a type of fatty acid, to be stored in adipose tissue (a storage site for fat).
