Explanation:

This happens when all the copper is displaced from the solution of copper sulphate. When Iron nail (Fe) kept in Copper sulphate (CuSO4) there takes reaction between them. As Iron is more reactive than Copper it can replace Copper from CuSO4. CuSO4 is in blue Colour and FeSO4 is in light green colour.

When an iron rod is placed in CuSO4 solution.m , then iron being more reactive than copper displaces it and forms a new compound FeSO4 .This is an example of displacement reaction .

CUSO4 + Fe -> FeSO4 + Cu.
