The resins swells up as it is kept in the water..
due to endomosis. The concentration of solutes in raisins is more than the outside so water move inside the raisin resulting in its swelling.

when resin is kept in water it absorbs the water because of osmosis. Osmosis is the transfer of water from a higher concentration to a lower concentration through a semipermeable membrane. In this case the water surrounding resin has a higher concentration and the water inside the resin has lower concentration so the water moves from the higher concentration to the lower concentration (water moves into the resin). Therefore, due to the absorption of water the resin swells out.
