When external charge is put on the surface bubble, it gets distributed uniformly over the entire surface of the bubble, which increases the patential at the surface (wrt some origin say at the centre ofthe bubble) now to compensate this
increase the potential energy, the bubble expand.

The bubble will expand because thecharged particles uniformly distributed on it cause them to repel each other due to the electrostatic force. This will happen to both positive and negativelycharged bubbles because of thecharge on it. Example: If a soap bubbleis given a negative charge, then its radius increases.
