When you leave a plant in dark room, it utilizes all of its starch that it had stored because photosynthesis occurs only in sunlight and it can't photosynthesis in dark. Generally by 48 hours( 2 days) all of the starch stored is used up and hence when you do a starch test there is no presence of starch to show colour change . Therefore it remains colourless after starch test with iodine . I hope this helps you:)
