Zn + H_{2}SO_{4}\longrightarrow ZnSO_{4}+H_{2}

Zinc being more reactive that hydrogen displaces it from its salt solution and this displacement reaction takes place.

When zinc granules are treated with dilute sulphuric acid it gives zinc sulphate and hydrogen gas is evolved.

Zn+H_2SO_4----->ZnSO_4+H_2
